Last week I was able to play with the Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar . We can use makeup to change the appearance of our eyes; we can make them look bigger or smaller with tricks, we can enhance certain colors in our eyes, or just make them pop and shimmer. How do we do that? With eyeshadow, of course! I’ve been having so much fun with the Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar, which allows you to create your own collection of eyeshadows through a multitude of options suitable for every taste.
What’s fabulous about Buxom is that they allow you to customize your palette, so you can choose only the shades that speak to you and that you’ll wear all the time. How frustrating can it be sometimes when you’re shopping for makeup and you fall in love with only two shades in the palette? If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a palette with only a couple of colors that you like, here’s your solution!
In the Buxom eyeshadow palette, you can choose up to six colors to place in your palette. The color range is extensive, and spans from neutrals to vibrant so you have so much choice. There are about 40 colors to choose from to make the palette of your dreams. If you’re looking for certain finishes as well, you will find matte, duo-chrome, and shimmery eyeshadows for your desired look. A great thing about these shadows is that they’re primer-infused, meaning you don’t have to use an eye primer to prep your eyes; these colors will stay put on your lids! The pigments are strong in each color, so you’ll get great coverage and a saturated color that you don’t have to apply generously in order to get your desired look.
You can remove the shades at any time to switch them up with new ones. So let’s say you’re traveling for a couple of days and want to minimize the cosmetics that you pack; just pop in the colors you wear for everyday, and maybe a couple for nighttime, and you can be sure you can create all the looks necessary from one palette! So convenient, right? If you’re indecisive and have trouble picking the shades, Buxom created a 3 pre-made palettes for you. There’s a mirror and a double-ended brush within the compact, so you seriously are eliminating so much clutter from your makeup bag.
Here is the look I created using my custom Buxom Eyeshadow Bar.
I took Diamond Darling, which is a shimmering highlight, and used it on the inner corners and brow bone to create shine and open up my eyes. I also used a little bit of La-La-Lavish, which is an iridescent lavender color, for the inner corners of my eyes as well.
Next, I dusted Luxe Life, a sweet periwinkle shade, all over my lid. I love the way this color complements my eyes as well as my skin. I used VIP, a matte purple, on my crease as a transitional color. These two shades blend so beautifully together, and play off of each other so nicely.
To deepen my crease and give the look dimension, I went with Backstage Pass, a metallic navy shade. I also used this on my bottom lash line with a little bit of VIP to soften it up. Adding eyeshadow under the eye carefully can be such a nice touch to open up your eye even more, instead of eyeliner, which can just create a harsh line under the eye. I love how much all of the colors I chose complement each other and bring out each other’s pigments when combined together.
To finish the look, I used Buxom’s Full-On Lip Cream in Hot Toddy; it’s a subtle pink that won’t draw the attention away from my eyes.
Right now, the Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar is on for a fabulous deal through Sephora. Build your dream palette with only colors you love, and swap them out when you don’t. It’s a hard choice because they are all so beautiful, but just look for the ones that will make you feel as beautiful as you are!
Share with me which shades you choose for your very own palette, and if you create a look with your new bar, share that with me too!
