As you all may know, I recently moved from San Diego to Los Angeles! It’s great to be back in a familiar setting, and be closer to my family and friends. I’ve been busy with my YouTube channel so it’s been difficult to organize my living space, but I finally managed to declutter and clean everything up in my apartment. I’ll be sharing with you some of my tips to make your apartment or home welcoming!
The living room is the first place my guests see when they walk into my apartment, so I wanted to create a space where it was both inviting and comfortable for them. Placing flowers around the house softens the environment, plus I love the look and smell of flowers! I even place them in the kitchen, which we’ll get to later in this post. I don’t like everything to match, so I like buying unique pieces that give my room character. For example, the yellow honeycomb lamp is a great stand-out piece; I also love adding gold accents and trinkets around the apartment. Having one-of-a kind pieces placed around your house is also a great conversation starter for you and your guest!
It’s extremely important for my workspace corner to be organized. I like to stack books that are motivational and inspiring to constantly remind me to be positive. Candles are another item that I enjoy, especially if it smells really good; something about an aromatic room helps me work efficiently. I like to keep my desk clean, and clutter-free which makes it easier for me to finish my workload!
To the right of my desk is my makeup cabinet; for more about how I organize my make up and where I got the cabinets from, check out my video here! I keep my brushes and favorites lipsticks at the top, as well as motivational posters to get me pumped for the day. There’s also another table on the right side, to place more of my favorites trinkets and books. If there’s one thing I’d want you to take away from this post, is that you should buy home decor that makes you feel happy and have a sentimental value. Your home should be your place of haven and peace, so naturally you’d want to surround yourself with happy thoughts!
As I mentioned before, I love flowers because it’s a nice accent piece to any room, even the kitchen! I like to keep a fruit and vegetable bowl on the counter, it adds color without even trying. Another nice touch of color are these cups with my husband’s and my initials. It’s good to have them at arms’ reach in case you get thirsty; we’ve been loving our homemade berry-infused water for the warm weather in Los Angeles. We’ll have a recipe post coming soon for our homemade drinks, so stay tuned! We also keep coffee mix in one of our MacKenzie-Childs canisters–the monochrome checkered pattern is absolutely chic.
