Fall is on its way! Even though it still feels like summer in Los Angeles, I’m really looking forward to dressing for cooler weather. Picking outfits as summer turns into fall can be a bit tricky since the weather can vary so much, but you can mix and match trends for both seasons! Right now I’m loving this casual style. It has a bit of that preppy “back to school” vibe that is so on trend, but I dressed it up with some edgier pieces.
I started with this adorable black romper and a light blazer. The romper definitely feels casual and summery, but the blazer leans toward a more refined fall look. This look is great for days spent exploring the city—you can take off the jacket while walking around in the afternoon, but toss it on as the sun sets or if you pop into an air conditioned museum or store. Plus, the back of this romper is so gorgeous, I like to be able to show it off!
I complemented my casual style with comfy loafers (perfect for walking around!) and a polished, classic purse, but then I added a bit of edge with unique accessories. I love piling on lots of dainty gold pieces. Stacked rings, a long layered necklace, and several gold bangles lend such a uniquely pretty touch without overwhelming the look. I love the recent black ribbon choker trend, so of course I couldn’t resist adding one to complete my look!
This belt is so versatile—it really goes with everything! The silver details add just enough embellishment. I like how it looks worn over a romper, like the one I’m wearing, but it also works so well over dresses or with my favorite jeans.
My sunglasses are definitely the most unique part of my look. You guys might remember these from my Paris trip! I really love the unusual shape of the frames and the round lenses are so on trend. Since this outfit is mostly neutral, I like to add a little bit of color and these pink tinted lenses give the perfect pop of pink.
I love how this outfit combines both summer and fall trends and I definitely plan to wear it as the weather gets a bit colder. For fall, I might add a pair of black opaque tights under the romper and change from loafers to black ankle boots. Even layering another jacket or sweater with my blazer keeps the preppy vibe but adds another layer of warmth to these casual style!
