One of the best parts of being a full time blogger is that I get to work from home (and with my hubby!) Though we go to a lot of meetings around the city, most of the behind the scenes magic happens right here in our apartment. Since we work at home, it was important for us to set aside a designated workspace. We wanted our home offices to fit with the clean, happy aesthetic of the rest of our apartment, but be a place where we were comfortable and able to work. I thought I’d give you all a room tour of my newly decorated Beauty Room! (Look for a Beauty Room Tour video up on my YouTube channel soon!)
I film all my YouTube videos, test out new makeup products, and work on the blog here in my Beauty Room. I store all my makeup in here as well, in these super convenient Ikea drawer sets! This room is clean and minimalist, but with space to display all the things that inspire me. I was absolutely head over heels for these copper and marble shelves from CB2. Not only are they chic and perfectly metallic, they are the ideal place to store my prettiest accessories. I have another set of shelves for all my fashion and beauty books plus my favorite candles and flowers. You guys may recognize it, it’s the backdrop for a lot of my videos! And how adorable are the gold pig bookends? I actually have two sets! I keep one on my white shelf and one near the window, next to this amazing sculptural floor lamp.
My desk is clean and simple. This charcoal chair adds a nice touch to the space—the gold frame is gorgeous and looks so good with my white desk from Martha Stuart. Since I spend a decent amount of time here editing, it’s important to me to keep just a few of my favorite things nearby. My favorite part of my Beauty Room is the photo gallery from Framebridge above. I love being able to look up from my computer to see the people and things that inspire me (plus a little #girlboss reminder!) We’re actually adding another gallery wall in our living room, so we’ll be doing a post on that soon!
This adorable little gold container is the perfect place to store pencils and pens. I also have a few around the room for makeup brushes! I usually like to have a candle lit at my desk while I work, and this cube sculpture is the perfect complement. It adds just the perfect touch of gold!
Like me, KB likes to keep his desk super minimalist. His desk has a gorgeous marble tabletop and metal legs. (Can you tell that we love metallics here?) He keeps a wire sculpture with an air plant and has one of our favorite photos hanging above his desk. The frame matches the ones in my room!
We each definitely decorated our work area with our own style, but I love that there are little details that we share in each! Luckily, we have a similar taste in décor, so it was easy to make our apartment look pulled together and beautiful! We were able to use a lot of pieces that we already have, but I found a lot of new pieces from CB2. I love their clean, minimalist design. We both love working from home, and having a beautifully decorated space has made it so much easier!
I hope you enjoyed my Beauty Room Tour! What is your favorite way to decorate a room?
