I just got back from a weekend trip to Aspen! It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in the U.S.! I went with a group of friends and beauty bloggers on a trip with L’Oreal, and it was the perfect way to relax in the middle of a crazy month. The village offered a complete escape, with limited cell service and gorgeous snow-covered mountains all around. I absolutely loved Aspen, and not only would I totally recommend it to you guys, but I can’t wait to go there again myself!
Thankfully, I was super prepared for the weather. It never snowed while I was there and it stayed around thirty degrees, which was cold but nice. (I love the opportunity to get out all my winter layers, since I never need them in LA!) While traveling, I wore faux-leather leggings, a soft cream sweater with amazing bell sleeves, a super cozy J.Crew coat, and my favorite studded boots from Givenchy. I stayed at the Viceroy Hotel, which was awesome, the service was amazing and it was so pretty!
One of my favorite activities while I was there was a helicopter ride with Aspen Heli Charter! I’ve always wanted to go on a helicopter ride and I was so excited to go in such a beautiful place! For the ride, I wore this amazing furry pullover from Storets, with lace up leggings, a cute pom-pom beanie, and Timberland boots. I wore these boots a lot while in Aspen, they were perfect for the snow and look super cute with jeans and leggings. On the helicopter ride, we went to a ranch that was totally isolated in the mountains—it was so pretty! I do have to admit that the helicopter ride was a little bit scary, since it was super windy outside, but I think it was totally worth it!
We also took a gondola ride up Snowmass Mountain, a ski resort, to Elk Camp Restaurant, where we made s’mores and drank hot chocolate. It was pretty cold up on the mountain, so I made sure to bundle up! I layered a striped turtleneck tee under a ruffled sweater from Storets and wore a super warm Sweaty Betty ski jacket on top with a pink beanie. I’ve never skied or snowboarded before, but it was really cool to watch from the gondola and enjoy the view from the top of the mountain
Unfortunately, while I was in Aspen, I got altitude sickness and food poisoning, so I did have to skip out on a day of activities. If you live closer to sea level, I definitely recommend taking it easy to get used to the high elevation and decreased oxygen! Most hotels in Aspen have oxygen rooms, which really helped me, I went to one twice a day. It’s important to get acclimated before exploring!
Despite getting sick, I absolutely loved Aspen! I vlogged the whole time I was there, so you’ll be able to see more about my trip up on my channel soon!
