Whenever I go to a drugstore I almost always end up grabbing a new lipstick. The feeling of picking up a gorgeous new shade while getting an amazing deal is just too good! Lipsticks are one of my favorite beauty products to experiment with, and since drugstore lipsticks are low investment, you can try a bunch of shades and formulas. Of course I do love a really good high-quality lipstick, but finding an incredible drugstore lipstick for under $10 is almost more rewarding!
Pro Tip: To make your drugstore lipsticks last longer, apply one coat then blot using a tissue. Sweep translucent powder (I’ve even used pressed powder in a pinch!) over your lips either using a powder brush or by using your finger. Dust off any extra powder and apply a second coat of lipstick. Voila!
1. Milani Color Statement Lipstick ($5)
Whenever I think of high quality drugstore lipsticks, Milani Color Statement Lipstick comes to mind! Each lipstick is super pigmented and goes on smoothly. I will admit that it can be a bit drying, so I make sure that my lips are super hydrated before I put it on!
2. Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick Kate Moss Collection ($4)
There are some amazing red shades in the Rimmel London Kate Moss collection! I love this lipstick in “My Little Black Dress”. It’s a super deep bluish red that is great for dramatic nighttime looks. I wear it with just a coat of mascara for a fresh-faced but high-impact look or with smudged eyeshadow for a nod to Old Hollywood Glam.
3. L’Oreal Color Riche Collection Exclusive Red Lipcolor ($6)
I used this lipstick in Liya’s Red while attending the SAG Awards as a L’Oreal League Partner and I was so impressed (you can see the full look here!) The color was gorgeously vibrant and lasted so long! I’ve tried a bunch of the reds in this collection and they are all so amazing!
4. Aquaphor Healing Ointment ($5)
Okay, so this isn’t lipstick, but it is a must have if you are going to wear lipstick any time soon! It’s the real hero of my makeup bag! I use Aquaphor almost everyday to keep my lips from drying out. You can also use it on your skin when lotion just isn’t enough!
