If you have been following along on the blog for awhile, you’ve probably seen a series of posts that I’ve done in collaboration with Laura Mercier and Byrdie! (You can see the previous posts here, here, and here!) For this final video, Laura Mercier makeup artist Pati Dubroff used the new Laura Mercier Editorial Eye Palette to create a gorgeous (and easy!) daytime makeup look on me! I had so much fun working on this partnership with the brands and with my friends and beauty YouTubers Melissa Alatorre, and Deepica Mutayala!
It was really cool experimenting with the Editorial Palette. It has six shades made with creamy clay that melt onto your skin. The palette also has a setting powder that you can use after applying your shadow to keep it in place for all day wear. Three shades are metallic with a “brushed metal” finish and the other three are deep mattes. Pati used the palette on me to create a romantic daytime look, which I loved! You can recreate the look that Pati did on me with the Laura Mercier Editorial palette using the steps below.
Soft Daytime Makeup Tutorial
- Using the Laura Mercier Clay Smudge Brush, apply matte brown in “Blackened Brown Clay” shadow lightly across eyelid.
- Set using the Airlight Setting Powder using the Laura Mercier Ponytail Brush.
- Mix Metallik Platinum Clay and Metallik Pewter Clay shadows and line upper lashes using a flat brush.
- Smudge Blackened Brown Clay at outer corners and under eye to create more dimension.
