Who’s ready for Spring already? Looking back on my favorite beauty products from this month, you can definitely tell that I’m ready for a lighter, fresher approach to makeup, which is perfect for Spring! This month’s edition of Sona Selects features my beauty favorites and essentials for a natural, glowing makeup look!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($64)
This Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation has been one of my favorites for awhile! It gives my skin such a beautiful silky finish that looks super natural. I learned that it’s actually inspired by the silk fabrics that Giorgio Armani uses in his collections, how cool is that? It’s a super light formula, but has medium, buildable coverage. It’s on the pricier side, but for such a flawless application and finish, I think this foundation is worth it!
Hourglass Stick Foundation ($46)
I’ve always found stick foundations to be a bit heavier, but that’s not the case with the Hourglass Stick Foundation! You don’t have to use a lot of product to get coverage, and it lasts all day long! It’s amazing for contouring, but I’ll also use it as my regular foundation. Plus, I’m kind of obsessed with the packaging. The triangular shape not only looks really striking, but it also helps you get into those small areas of your face, like under your eyes and around your nose.
Benefit Hello Flawless Powder ($34)
I usually prefer liquid or cream foundations, but the Benefit Hello Flawless Powder foundation really stands out. I’d only recommend this if you have normal to oily skin, since it can cake in dry patches. I sometimes use this on top of a base layer of foundation for a smoother finish, or I use it for days when I want a more sheer coverage.
Dior Nude Air Luminizer ($56)
As far as highlighters go, the Dior Nude Air Luminizer is definitely on the pricey side, but if you’re looking to invest in a super high quality highlighter, this is your best bet! It’s been my favorite highlighter for a while now, since it gives you such a gorgeous “lit from within” glow. Also, can we talk about how beautiful the packaging is? I love how the top of the compact almost looks quilted! It’s actually decently heavy and has a magnetic clasp so that it won’t open and crumble in your makeup bag!
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ($15)
The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is an amazing drugstore option! As implied by the palm tree emblazoned packaging, this bronzer gives you a beautiful sun-kissed glow that looks like you’ve spent the last few days lounging on a tropical beach! It goes on super smoothly and has a creamy texture from the Murumuru Butter formula. It smells like a coconutty, fruity tropical drink and feels as luxurious as higher priced bronzers!
Maybelline Big Shot Colossal Volum’ Mascara ($9)
I’ve always struggled to find drugstore mascara that I really liked, but I was pretty impressed with the Maybelline Big Shot Colossal Volum’ Mascara! The wand is large and has spiky bristles that help to comb through your lashes. If you’re looking to lengthen your lashes, after applying this, I might go in with another mascara that was a smaller wand to grab those little corner and bottom lashes, but this definitely gives you the volume that you want!
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon Eyeliner ($25)
This Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon Eyeliner combines the convenience of a pencil with the versatility of a gel liner. You can use it to create the perfect crisp line or smudge it if you’re going for more of a sultry, smokey eye look. I have this in my bag so that I can go from my fresh daytime look to a nighttime vibe for drinks with friends in seconds!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Treatment ($9)
Who here is the kind of person who always has lip balm with them? I always have some sort of moisturizing lip balm on rotation and right now, I’m loving this Hydro Boost Lip Treatment from Neutrogena! It has hyaluronic acid which helps to keep your lips plump and moisturized. I love the cute little compact that it comes in!
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($27)
This Velvet Matte Lip Pencil from Nars is so versatile! It looks like a chubbier version of a lip pencil, but I use it like a lipstick, completely filling in my lips with it. It’s super pigmented and long lasting, so it’s a great option for nights out or events! My favorite shade is Train Bleu, which is a super deep, purple red.
