Hey loves, as I’m sure you’ve probably seen on Instagram and Snapchat, I went to Coachella this past weekend! I’ve been to music festivals before, but this was my first time at Coachella and let me tell you, it was an experience! Besides the music and hanging out with KB and some of my blogger friends, one of the best parts about Coachella was seeing all of the amazing outfits people wore! I saw some really crazy outfits, but there were lots of really cute looks as well that you could totally wear into summer! Here are some of my favorite festival styles that I’ll be wearing for the next few months!
Festival Styles I Love
1. Straw Hats
A hat was absolutely essential at Coachella! Not only do straw hats look super cute and summery, they also add another layer of sun protection. (Which is always a plus in my book!) Straw hats come in lots of cute variations, like this one I wore from Zadig et Voltaire that is a bit darker and has a cute feather in the band. I also wore a light straw boater hat that was perfect for the festival—I plan on wearing it from now all the way through summer!
2. Statement Jewelry
Is there anything more fun than piling on layers and layers of jewelry? I usually stick to one statement piece, but the music festival was the perfect opportunity to have a “more is more” mentality! I love the idea of continuing this festival trend in the coming months, to go with light airy dresses and off the shoulder tops! Plus, who doesn’t love tasseled earrings?
3. Denim Skirts
I wore a denim skirt one of the days at the festival and I forgot how much I love them. I’m so happy this trend is coming back! Denim skirts have all the casual ease of their cut off counterparts but with an extra dose of girliness! Come summer, I’ll pair mine with T-shirts, light sweaters, and slides!
Fringe has been a Coachella standby for years, but I usually only wear fringe as a statement accessory. One day at the festival, I wore a fringed sweater with one of my favorite brown suede fringed bags. I loved the contrast of the yarn fringe on my sweater with the suede! It’s a look that I can’t wait to replicate for some fun, vacation-ready summer looks!5. Sneakers + Dresses
Okay, so I didn’t actually wear this look, but it was everywhere at Coachella! I usually pair dresses with sandals, and rarely think to pair them with sneakers, but I’m so excited to bring out this look in the summer. It’s the perfect easy outfit for traveling and sightseeing!
Not only are they super cute, backpacks are also so convenient! I totally wish I had brought one with me to the festival to hold extra water and a jacket (it got cold and windy at night!) There are lots of cute leather or woven options out there that I’d bring with me for traveling, to the beach, or if I have a lot of errands to run!
7. Hair Accessories
If there’s ever a place to go wild with hair accessories, it’s at Coachella! If you saw in my last post, I had so much fun using hair rings with Carly for my glittery festival makeup tutorial. The look turned out so cute, and I’d absolutely use the hair rings again as an accessory. While at the festival, I wore clip in pastel extensions that would look cute for festivals or for a summer party!
What’s your go to style for summer season?
