Wedding season is right around the corner! It’s such an amazing time for so many people and it reminds me of the excitement that I felt before my own wedding! I do have a few weddings to attend in the coming months, and I know that it can be stressful deciding what to wear. (Especially since dress codes can be so confusing!) But don’t worry, I’ve come up with a few wedding guest dress options for every dress code and budget!
While in Cabo (where all these photos were taken!) I saw three weddings just at our hotel! This inspired me to write this post, since almost everyone I know has at least a wedding or two to attend this summer! This dress that I’m wearing is definitely on the casual side, so I’d wear it to a daytime beach or outdoor wedding with a casual dress code! Read on to see my favorite wedding guest dress options!
I’ll start with a casual dress code! For this, I love the idea of wearing a cute linen sundress, like this one! I think of a casual dress code as something that I’d wear to a cute, slightly dressed up weekend brunch with my friends.
Beach Formal Wedding
You might see this dress code for a destination wedding! This is definitely more dressed up than “casual” but not quite as elegant as cocktail attire. Think breezy silhouettes and cute details! Floral prints and summery hues would look amazing at a beach formal wedding.
Cocktail Attire or Semi-formal Wedding
This is where you should really start to get dressed up! For a cocktail attire or semi-formal dress code, I’d wear a knee length or tea length dress with a statement accessory. I’d stick with a more sophisticated palette, either pretty pastels (it is summer after all!) or jewel tones for an evening event.
Black Tie or Formal Wedding
You’ll want to pull out all the stops for any wedding has black tie as the dress code! Long, formal dresses and chic, put-together accessories should be your go to! You’ll most likely have to go shopping for this one, but luckily there are some really pretty and affordable options out there!
Don’t Forget to Accessorize!
A polished shoe (or sandals) and some cute gold hoops or layered necklaces would look so cute with any of these dresses! Just remember to match the formality of your accessories to the dress code!
Are you heading to any weddings this summer? Or even better, are you celebrating your own wedding?
