It’s officially summer in sunny southern California, and I am so excited to share the products that I’ve been loving during June in this month’s Sona Selects! These products will enhance your glow and are the perfect addition to your summer makeup bag. I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately, and these are the products I’ve stuck with flight after flight. If you are new to the blog, Sona Selects is a collection of the best beauty products I’ve used in the past month. Whether the products are old or new, they are the ones I keep returning to! I also have a video series on my channel to go along with each Sona Selects, called Sona Selects and Rejects. This is where I review all of the products that I did and didn’t like for the past month. Look out for the video coming soon on my channel!
1. Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer ($32)
The Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer is by far my favorite primer that I’ve ever used! I’ve mentioned it in so many of the videos on my channel because it really is a holy grail item. This primer is super hydrating and nourishing because it’s infused with coconut oil and probiotics which revive the skin. It really helps boost your skin’s moisture levels, so it’s basically an energy drink for you face! I have a dry skin type and this keeps my makeup looking absolutely flawless all day.
2. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel ($20.50)
I don’t know about you guys, but I like to keep my face makeup light in the summertime! Cakey foundation isn’t a cute look. That makes the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel the perfect foundation alternative! It’s lightweight yet still has great coverage, unlike most tinted moisturizers that are way too sheer. This product also has Broad Spectrum SPF 30 so you know your skin is being protected. There are so many shades available, so no matter your complexion Bare Minerals has got you covered!
3. YSL Touche Eclat Radiance Perfecting Pen ($42)
You may have seen on my Instagram or in my recent vlog, that I was in Morocco with YSL and got to try so many new products! The YSL Touche Eclat Radiance Perfecting Pen is one of the items I used non-stop while I was traveling in June, and I seriously couldn’t live without it. In the summertime, any products that will enhance my glow are worth adding to my makeup bag! This highlighting pen is one of the few highlighting concealers that doesn’t have shimmer, but gives you the most beautiful natural glow. This product is infused with Hyaluronic Acid which helps boost your skin’s hydration, Vitamin E, and micro pearls that are so beneficial for your skin! I love applying it under my eyes, to my cheekbones, and any other high points on my face to really brighten my complexion.
4. Pur Cameo Contour Stick ($39.50)
I’m sure you guys know that contouring is a trend that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The contouring queen herself, Kim Kardashian, recently came out with new contour and highlighting kits that literally sold out in less than three hours! The Pur Cameo Contour Stick specifically has one of my all time favorite formulas because it blends so seamlessly on the skin. It is perfect for sculpting and defining your face with it’s light reflective formula, which sets onto the skin just like a powder! This multi-use makeup stick can also be used as a foundation when you’re in a pinch, so you’re really getting the most bang for your buck!
5. Bare Minerals Gen Nude Under Over Lip Liner ($16)
Lip liner is for sure a staple in my makeup routine, especially when it comes to making sure my lip color stays on through a hot summer day. Stop feathering for good with the mega-creamy Bare Minerals Gen Nude Under Over Lip Liner that defines and primes your lips for the smoothest application ever! This product in particular was developed for all skin tones and lip colors, so you’re sure to find the perfect shade just for you. I have the shade ‘Borderline’ which is a fantastic medium nude for my skin tone. It can be used alone, or mixed and matched with your favorite lip products to achieve the ultimate lip look!
6. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick ($37)
In the summer my lips tend to get a little dry in the sun. The YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick is ultra hydrating to the lips, which is perfect if you have the same problem! It’s revolutionary formula is actually 65 percent oil, which instantly melts onto your lips and adds high shine with all-day comfort. It smells just like fresh mangos (that are almost good enough to eat) and is infused with rich pomegranate and rosemary antioxidants that are absolutely amazing for your lips! I own the shade numbered 44, which is a warm toned pinky nude that’s perfect for everyday wear. This is another product I couldn’t live without while traveling with YSL in Morocco and am so excited to try out their new products they are launching soon!
7. Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss ($26)
This luxurious Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss is by far one of the most comfortable lip glosses I’ve ever worn. It’s incredibly creamy and totally not sticky at all! The formula has a multidimensional finish, that gives off the most beautiful shine with just a hint of color that creates a more full lip look. I’m loving the shade called ‘Shameless Glow’, it gives you the perfect peachy pout. With this gloss you can create the illusion of lip injections, without ever having to go under the needle!
Like I mentioned above, I have a series called Sona Selects and Rejects on my channel where I not only talk about the products I love, but the products I didn’t love. But just because one product may not work for me, doesn’t mean it isn’t a great product or that it wouldn’t work for you! This is just my honest opinion based on my experience. Make sure you watch the video on my channel going live this week to find out!
I hope you enjoyed this month’s Sona Selects my loves! What are the beauty products you couldn’t live without this month?
