Awhile back I did a blogpost on the best movies for a girls night in and got such great feedback, so I thought I’d do a post all about my favorite shows! If you follow me on Snapchat you probably know how much I love watching Game of Thrones, but there are so many more shows KB and I love watching together. Personally, I prefer watching TV shows on Netflix rather than live TV because I don’t have to wait an entire week for a new episode, but there are some shows that are just too good to not watch every week (like Game of Thrones). Today on the blog, I’m sharing my favorite TV shows that I’ve been binge watching all year. This is what I’m watching after work when I want to kick back, relax, enjoy a glass of wine and chill with my hubby!
1. Game of Thrones
You probably already know how OBSESSED I am with this show, I’ve been watching it since the beginning and I can’t get enough! At the office, we have this running joke about the show. Whenever planes fly over us, it blocks the sun for a second, just like the dragons do in the show. We’ll be in the middle of working and somebody will scream “DRAGON”, it’s seriously so funny! Game of Thrones takes place on the fictional continent of Westeros where power hungry families fight for the control of seven different kingdoms. This conflict filled show is packed with kings, queens, heiresses, and tons of mythical creatures. It’s so action packed it’ll leave you in awe every episode!
2. Master of None
This show doesn’t sugarcoat- it portrays adult life exactly how it is. It follows a 30-something actor in his romantic, professional, and cultural experiences in today’s society. Aziz Ansari is so heartwarmingly hilarious, and there’s underlying lessons and stories in this show that make it so authentic compared to other shows currently on TV or streaming sites. It even won an Emmy for it’s impeccable writing, the dialogue alone will hook you right into the show. Master of None is a very lighthearted and easy show to watch, especially if you’re in for a good laugh! You won’t be able to only watch one episode of this amazing comedy!
3. Friends From College
Shows about a group of friends have been done over and over, but this one stands out against the rest. It doesn’t shy away from anything and is packed with dramatic entertainment! There are so many amazing comedians in this show, I promise you won’t stop laughing the whole season. Sadly there’s only one season available to stream on Netflix so far, because it just aired this year. However, it’s an easy watch for someone who doesn’t have too much extra time on their hands. This show is perfect for anyone who loves comedies! It’s relatable, funny, and totally worth watching next time your scrolling through Netflix.
The only bad thing about this show is that, unless you know Spanish really well, you’re going to have to read the subtitles. Besides that, Narcos is such a great show and I never mind putting in the work to enjoy it. KB and I binge watched it so fast! There are 3 seasons currently on Netflix and when we finished it I was mind blown. If you don’t know, Narcos is based on the infamous Colombian drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar. This show is packed with drama left and right! It’s crazy to think that it’s based on events that really happened. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves dramas that are action packed, it will leave you on the edge of your seat! This is definitely one of the best, and my favorite, shows on Netflix.
5. Big Little Lies
Based on the book Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty and starring actresses like Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, you know this show has to be good. It’s reminiscent of Desperate Housewives but so much better! There’s so much story woven into the lives of these suburban families, it’s definitely a show that keeps you thinking and wanting to watch more to discover the mystery! Big Little Lies is my newest favorite show and I actually got to meet and interview Nicole Kidman earlier this month. (So cool!) This show is on HBO, but you can also watch it on Amazon or Hulu if you don’t have a cable subscription. Big Little Lies is totally one of the most binge worthy TV shows of 2017!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post sharing all of the most binge worthy TV shows of 2017 that I haven’t been able to stop watching. I’ve actually been thinking about starting Stranger Things soon because I’ve heard so many good things about it. I’m always open to suggestions and finding new favorites to binge watch.
