Goodbye August and hello September! Things are finally cooling down here in Los Angeles, does this mean fall is coming early this year? As many of you know, I do my monthly favorites every now and then on my YouTube channel; I’ve decided to bring the concept of beauty favorites over here to my blog. I love doing these because I get to hear about YOUR favorites as well, creating a welcoming community of wonderful ladies. Today’s post is not necessarily my monthly favorites, since I’d use these products all-year round regardless of season!
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just have a go-to makeup look that takes you about five minutes or less, with products you know will stay on your face throughout the long work day that will just work for EVERYTHING, especially in the office? Well… I’m here to help! Finding the perfect everyday, office-appropriate makeup look that doesn’t take too much time can be difficult. Depending on your work setting, you may even have particular restrictions about makeup. Don’t get discouraged though; even if you have to tone it down just a little, there’s no reason why you can’t still look and feel beautiful while being professional and elegant.
Finding the right foundation is kind of like finding the right man; there’s a lot of trial and error, a lot of heartbreak, and a lot of time wasted with the wrong ones. But when you meet your match, you want to cherish it and never let it go. Just like men, there are many foundations to choose from so it’s almost impossible to know where to start, and there are a lot of empty promises. But there are some good ones out there, I promise (both foundation AND men)!
Happy Friday everyone! I’m so glad it’s the weekend again, aren’t you? So a few days ago, I was going through my Instagram feed and came across a photo of Kim Kardashian. I instantly fell in love with her makeup look, and decided to recreate it on myself! Don’t be mistaken: even though we have similar features, I’m not transforming into Kim completely. I’m simply gaining inspiration from her photo and putting my own twist on this look. I know the eyes look intense, but trust me, it’ll look gorgeous on you! It’s perfect for the night out on the town, dinners with your friends and for romantic dates.
When you’re looking for some out-of-the-box and truly unique beauty ideas to kick up your everyday makeup routine, the fashion runways are where it’s at. The only thing that could ever outshine the crazy clothes and luxury of a fashion show is the makeup and hair. While you probably shouldn’t copy the look for work the next day, it just shows what makeup is all about: new ways of combining colors and making your personality shine through. Right now, strobing is the latest trend and it is such a far stretch from the bronzy, saturated tones we’re used to seeing especially in these warm summer months. It’s not a new technique, and many European women opting for a natural look do this all the time. But unlike the contouring we’ve seen the past year, it’s not complicated and it’s starting to push contouring out of the ring.
Last weekend, I attended BeautyCon LA and it was so much fun, but chaotic! There were so many people, and getting inside the building was a mission so I hope you were all able to make it in at some point throughout the day. Special thanks to my amazing subbies who made it out to my meet-up I had outside by the Big Swing Ride. It was such a pleasure to interact with you and see your lovely faces. It makes me happy and ecstatic when I can put faces to all the names that leave wonderful comments on my YouTube channel and blog. While I was there, I received tons of makeup goodies and thought I’d give back and do a giveaway for you guys. Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and for that I’m forever grateful. Your support and words of encouragement keep motivating me to create new content for you guys. In addition to the selection from the BeautyCon goodie bags, I decided to add some of my all time favorite products in the giveaway as well! Follow the rules below to enter.
Dealing with acne and oily skin is tough, and I’m speaking from personal experience. Still to this day, I have to use specific products to help maintain my troublesome skin, and to prevent any future blemishes. But I’m not going to let that prevent me from experimenting with different types of makeup! Being a makeup artist allowed me to try products of all sorts, and eventually I found several ones that complement my skin type. Everyone’s skin is different, and the products that I recommend may not necessarily work for you; always make sure you check with your dermatologist if you have questions about your skin and any products you’d want to use.
