Happy Friday everyone! I’m so glad it’s the weekend again, aren’t you? So a few days ago, I was going through my Instagram feed and came across a photo of Kim Kardashian. I instantly fell in love with her makeup look, and decided to recreate it on myself! Don’t be mistaken: even though we have similar features, I’m not transforming into Kim completely. I’m simply gaining inspiration from her photo and putting my own twist on this look. I know the eyes look intense, but trust me, it’ll look gorgeous on you! It’s perfect for the night out on the town, dinners with your friends and for romantic dates.
When you’re looking for some out-of-the-box and truly unique beauty ideas to kick up your everyday makeup routine, the fashion runways are where it’s at. The only thing that could ever outshine the crazy clothes and luxury of a fashion show is the makeup and hair. While you probably shouldn’t copy the look for work the next day, it just shows what makeup is all about: new ways of combining colors and making your personality shine through. Right now, strobing is the latest trend and it is such a far stretch from the bronzy, saturated tones we’re used to seeing especially in these warm summer months. It’s not a new technique, and many European women opting for a natural look do this all the time. But unlike the contouring we’ve seen the past year, it’s not complicated and it’s starting to push contouring out of the ring.
Last weekend, I attended BeautyCon LA and it was so much fun, but chaotic! There were so many people, and getting inside the building was a mission so I hope you were all able to make it in at some point throughout the day. Special thanks to my amazing subbies who made it out to my meet-up I had outside by the Big Swing Ride. It was such a pleasure to interact with you and see your lovely faces. It makes me happy and ecstatic when I can put faces to all the names that leave wonderful comments on my YouTube channel and blog. While I was there, I received tons of makeup goodies and thought I’d give back and do a giveaway for you guys. Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and for that I’m forever grateful. Your support and words of encouragement keep motivating me to create new content for you guys. In addition to the selection from the BeautyCon goodie bags, I decided to add some of my all time favorite products in the giveaway as well! Follow the rules below to enter.
Dealing with acne and oily skin is tough, and I’m speaking from personal experience. Still to this day, I have to use specific products to help maintain my troublesome skin, and to prevent any future blemishes. But I’m not going to let that prevent me from experimenting with different types of makeup! Being a makeup artist allowed me to try products of all sorts, and eventually I found several ones that complement my skin type. Everyone’s skin is different, and the products that I recommend may not necessarily work for you; always make sure you check with your dermatologist if you have questions about your skin and any products you’d want to use. I know many of you requested for a sweat proof and waterproof makeup tutorial, so I decided to film one for my Five Minute Friday series! Make sure you’re subscribed (it’s FREE) to my blog below to gain early access and watch it first! So I tried my very best to edit today’s video, but it’s actually 7-minutes long. Don’t be mad! I just wanted to cover as much as I could about my sweat proof routine. For this post, I listed alternatives that wasn’t mentioned in my tutorial; these products are some of my recommendations, and they’ve definitely proved to be long-lasting even after sweating. Summer is definitely the season for the beaches and outdoor activities, so it’s important to use products that say “waterproof” to ensure all-day wear.
Last week I was able to play with the Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar . We can use makeup to change the appearance of our eyes; we can make them look bigger or smaller with tricks, we can enhance certain colors in our eyes, or just make them pop and shimmer. How do we do that? With eyeshadow, of course! I’ve been having so much fun with the Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar, which allows you to create your own collection of eyeshadows through a multitude of options suitable for every taste.
The summer sun will be beaming on us very soon, which means beach days, fruity cocktails, and lots of sweaty days. It can be difficult to wear makeup during the summer because it can melt off so easily. You may even feel like there isn’t much of a purpose in wearing much makeup for fear that it’s just going to smudge and come off. But how about those summer weddings? Those nights on the patio of a bar with your girlfriends? I think you’ll be missing out on wearing a lot of fun, bright colors if you don’t consider that you CAN wear makeup during the summer if you use the right products – like some AVON treasures I found!
