Last week, Neutrogena put together a bloggers event in Manhattan Beach and I was one of the lucky ladies to be a part of their two day experience. The event began on Tuesday at the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach, where I met all the lovely bloggers who took part in this experience. After settling in my hotel room, it was time for lunch at the Neutrogena headquarters, hosted by Kristen Bell. We got to learn about the research and care Neautrogena puts behind their brand. We talked a lot about the importance of recycling, skincare and more…
After lunch, my group and I met with a dermatologist who talked to us about acne and how bacteria is formed. They had an advanced x-ray like photo machine that took pictures of our skin, and showed the bacteria living under. This was really eye opening as I got to learn where I had more bacteria and how to prevent the bacteria from becoming acne on my skin. Later that night, we all had drinks and mingled at our hotel. I instantly connected with these lovely ladies, Pandora and Shy.
The next morning, I woke up to a personal in room blow-dry session, then headed to breakfast at the hotel. Over breakfast, we had the Neutrogena team talk about skin cancer, skin aging, and the importance of sunscreen. I always knew the importance of sunscreen, but after this experience, I am terrified of what the sun can do to my skin and have been religiously applying and reapplying sunscreen everyday. Not sure if you’ve ever seen the truck driver who never wore sunscreen, but check out the photo in google images and it should encourage you to wear sunscreen everyday. One in five women get skin cancer, so it’s important to apply a high level of SPF daily. We also learned that skin cancer is preventative if discovered early, in which case, seeing a dermatologist regularly is very important. The overall experience was full of skincare knowledge, good food, great company and lots of pampering.
