This past weekend I had the privilege of hosting a makeup seminar at the Urban Decay flagship store in Orange County in conjunction with the launch of their new summer collection. It was so great having the chance to meet some of my subscribers and share some tips with all of the fabulous ladies that came out!
It was an intimate gathering of about 20-25 in a gorgeous space. Guests were treated to some yummy appetizers and tasty drinks while they mingled and explored Urban Decay’s lovely storefront. Guests also got a sneak peek at UDs new summer collection and even took some wonderful goodies home!
The flagship store was absolutely breathtaking. The amount of detail put into the design of the space was amazing. The decor and ambiance of the store were truly representative of Urban Decay’s edgy brand. I could tell every corner of the store was thought-out and told a story. I was just as excited to explore Urban Decay’s first store as their loyal fans were!
During the makeup seminar, I created a gorgeous, glowing summer look that transitioned from day to night on the lovely Crystal. I was inspired by a summer night for this look, so I went with gold and bronze tones that mimic the glow of a summer sun. Eye-shadows with shimmer work well for the summertime since the shine is so season appropriate. I used a series of individual shadow pods and blended together a couple of different colors to make Crystal’s eyes pop. I also used the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation and played with some bronzer to create a dewy, glowing finish on Crystal’s face. I kept a nude lip for the daytime look to complement the natural colors on the eyes.
To transition this makeup into a nighttime look, I added a pop of color to the lip to make it a little bit more sultry and steamy. I also added some lashes to add some dimension to her eyes.
After the seminar, Urban Decay had designated artists all around the store for guests to ask personal questions and have one-on-one consultations. I also had the chance to meet everyone and share my knowledge with them as well. My hubby was wonderful and took lots of pictures of the event and even Snap Chatted (simply_sona) some of the seminar for everyone who couldn’t make it out. We were also able to stream about 5 minutes of the seminar on Periscope which was super cool!
Each guest was also sent home with a generous goody bag full of amazing products from Urban Decay. The Chill Makeup Setting Spray is perfect to apply on a hot summer night before you head out, and the Naked Skin Bronzing Beauty Balm with SPF will help create that coveted summer glow. Guests also left with a fun glitter eyeliner, the 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner, and lastly, a bright and summery nail polish.
If you want to stay in the loop for any make up seminars I may do in the future, all you have to do is SUBSCRIBE to my blog and I’ll keep you updated on more exciting events. I don’t get many chances to meet my subscribers, and I’m always grateful for the opportunity to get to know you guys.
I hope everyone who came out enjoyed themselves as much as I did! I’ve posted some footage of this seminar so you can get more of a feel of what the makeup class was like.
