Attending New York Fashion Week this year was so exciting for me, I got to work backstage at the Marchesa show! It was truly a dream come true and I am so thankful to Bobbi Brown and Marchesa for giving me the opportunity to help backstage.
On this particular day, it was very cold. Thankfully, I was in a car between presentations, so I didn’t have to bundle up too much. I went to the A.P.C presentation then to the Narciso Rodriguez show. I wanted to wear a statement coat that was both practical and show-stopping.
This long, gray coat has a fantastic structured box shape that just hangs so beautifully on the body and makes it so easy to throw on top of any outfit. I adore the fringe detail throughout; it’s both on trend and a dramatic edge to make what could be a simple gray coat, stand out.
I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit fairly simple, so that I didn’t take away from the coat. I went with a monochromatic outfit underneath; all black is so classic and chic. My blouse played into the 70s trend, and could be a statement piece on its own with its dramatic bell sleeves that I let peek out of my coat. They look as though they are attached to the coat! Everything else I wore was simple and complementary to the statement coat. I paired it with black denim and some black over the knee boots.
I hope you take some inspiration from this outfit. If you watched the runways online or in-person, tell me what shows were your favorite and what trend you are loving!
