8 Makeup Hacks For Beginners

Beauty, makeup, Tips
makeup hacks for beginners

Welcome to the fabulous world of makeup, beginners! If you’re looking to learn more about makeup but feel like you need to brush up on your skills, I have 8 makeup hacks for beginners to make it super simple! If you want to see these tips in action, be sure to watch my YouTube video at the end.

Makeup Hack #1: Foundation Before Concealer
Forget what you’ve heard about concealer before foundation. Leave the under eye area bare when you apply your foundation so you can use your concealer as a highlighter to brighten tired eyes.

Hack #2: Concealer as Primer

You don’t need to spend money on an eye primer; just use your concealer! This makeup hack will help lock in your eyeshadow to make it last throughout the day. Not every concealer will work for this; I recommend Mac Pro Long Wear concealer for this makeup hack.

Hack #3: Highlighting Your Eyes
You know that highlighter you use on the high points of your cheeks to get that pretty glow? Take a damp brush and glide that highlighting powder along your eyes for a striking glow that’ll make your eyes pop.

Hack #4: Bronzing Your Eye
If you have a heavy folded crease, take some bronzer and apply it on your crease. This makeup hack will help make the eyes appear bigger and will decrease the look of the fold.

Hack #5: Dry Eyeliner Pod
If you use a gel eyeliner in a pod for that precise cat eye, you know that it dries up quickly. Salvage your eyeliner with a few eyedrops to add moisture back into the gel. Mix it around in a little bit and this makeup hack will save you from having to replace it all the time!

Hack #6: DIY Lipstick
So you were rushing to pack your makeup bag on your way out the door, and you dropped your blush! Ugh, what a bummer. Try this makeup hack before throwing it out; grab the blush, vaseline, and some peppermint oil and mix it together for an added plumping affect.

Hack #7: Lipstick as Blush
This makeup hack helps you use one product as two! For beginners, these types of hacks are great because you can do more with less. Dab some lipstick on your fingers and blend a small amount into the apples of your cheeks very well.

Hack #8: Plump It Up
Get those Kylie Jenner lips naturally with some peppermint oil. Take the lip-gloss you already have and add a few drops into it, rather than going out and purchasing one that probably has peppermint oil in it.

I hope you enjoyed these 8 makeup hacks for beginners that pretty much anyone can use! Be sure to check out my video for more info on all of these awesome tricks. If you have any makeup hacks that you’d like to share, make sure to let me know in the comments!

I always like to read your old blog posts when it’s late and I can’t sleep. I love this one! I feel like I’m not a beginner at makeup but these were still super helpful. I’d love to see more posts like this!!

The dry eyeliner pod tip always works! Had to revive my Maybelline pot recently after a couple months of use. Great tips.
