As many of you probably know, I recently went on an amazing trip to London! It was so incredible. It’s such a beautiful city and I had such a nice time exploring London and all there was to see. Before I jetted off, I asked you guys on Snapchat (simply_sona) and Instagram for some recommendations on what I should do when I was in London. I got ideas from over a hundred people! Thank you guys SO much! Since so many of you helped me explore London, I wanted to share with you everything that I did while I was there.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, we arrived in London and checked into the Knightsbridge Hotel in Knightsbridge. It was a quaint little boutique hotel with a nice cozy library. We took our first day to enjoy our surroundings and chill out after a long flight. We stopped into Harrods since it was close to where we were staying, a famous department store, for some dinner and exploring.
Thursday
Thursday was dedicated to Rimmel, as I shot a very fun getting ready and going out themed video for them while exploring London. KB even made an appearance! ♥ We shot this video in the cute and colorful Knotting Hill neighbourhood. Make sure you stay tuned for more on my Rimmel shoot in an upcoming blog post, where I’ll be taking you behind the scenes of that day! After the shoot we had dinner with my girl Marianna Hewitt at the Soho House. It was so great to catch up with her!
Friday
Friday was a day of work and play. I shot a collab video with Amelia Liana, who is so sweet. Get ready to laugh when you see what we came up with. It’ll be up on my YouTube channel so look forward to that! The rest of the day was quite relaxing. We indulged in some very yummy sushi at CHISOU for dinner.
Saturday
On Saturday, I fell in love! With Covent Garden, that is. :) It was the most beautiful place – thank you guys SO much for recommending it to me! It was by far the most recommended place for us to check out. We were basically tourists all Saturday, exploring London for monuments like Buckingham Palace, Parliament Building, Big Ben, The Cathedral, and The London Bridge. We wandered to Borough Market for some tea, and had some traditional grub like shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and beer at a pub.
We also did a little bit of shopping, as I was on a desperate mission for a beanie to warm me up. Unfortunately, Spring has taken over retail and I had no luck, but I did find a fabulous jacket at Zara. We went to Camden to walk around and continue our exploring. After a super long day, we just went back to the hotel and ate our dinner there.
Sunday
Sunday was our last full day exploring London. We walked to Stern Square and to a restaurant called Colbert. Many of you recommended this restaurant to us and I had heard so many great things. We were hoping for just some tea and sweets, but unfortunately they wouldn’t seat us unless we ordered food, which was a bummer because I really wanted to check out the place. That day, I also decided to do an impromptu meet up at Starbucks for some of my subscribers, and it was so nice to have such an intimate setting to get to know my London subbies! We gathered by a table and chatted for an hour over some tea.
After the meet up, we had dinner at the Shard after one of the lovely ladies I met at the meet up said it was worth checking out. We were able to get reservations at a Chinese restaurant called Hutong on the 32nd floor where we ate some of the most delicious food with a breathtaking view.
London was such a memorable experience for me, and I am so blessed to have been able to see all that I did. If you have the chance to explore London, I would recommend checking out the Shard building for some of the best views of London you can possibly imagine. Knightsbridge is also a very cute neighbourhood – I loved staying there and I think it’s worth visiting. Covent Gardens, of course being a place you can fall in love with, is an absolute must. For shopping, I would recommend checking out Harrods, where you can spend a whole day eating and having sweets and looking around – they even have a Laduree where you can find traditional macarons!
Is there anything in London that YOU might know of that I should try to see if I ever get a chance to go again? Let me know in the comments! I’d also love to know if there’s one country or city you’ve always wanted to go to.
Here are 5 Places to Visit In London:
1. Harrods (Knightsbridge Area for Shopping)
2. NottingHill (Cute Neighborhoods)
3. Buckingham Palace (Historic)
4. Covent Gardens (Shopping + Pubs)
5. The Shard (Amazing Views + Great Restuarants)
