Summer Beauty Survival Kit

Beauty, Lifestyle
Summer Survival Kit

Hi guys, I am going to Palm Springs this weekend which I am really excited about. It’s always nice to get away for a little mini vacay especially when it’s for 4th of July! It will be nice to hang by the pool and catch some fire works too! Since I am packing my weekend bag, I thought it would be fun to share with you what beauty survival kit products I pack as well as other must have vacation essentials.

Bridal Makeup by Troy Jensen

The first thing I packed is sunscreen. If you are going to be outside, for any amount of time, be sure to wear a good sunscreen on your face. My current favorite and one I would highly recommend is the Clarins UV Plus Sunscreen with SPF 50. This has UVA and UVB so you’re be well protected. A great drugstore alternative is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen.

I also packed Clinique’s Uplighting Illuminating Bronzer and a neutral toned blush called Risque by Tarte to give my complexion a natural bronzed flush.

You know I don’t go anywhere without my highlighters! For a nice glow, I packed a few of my favorites. The Marc Jacobs Spot Light Glow Stick is a neutral toned highlighter. It comes in a convenient stick so you can use it on your face or body. I like using this on my legs and shoulders especially when I’m by the pool. I also really like Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal! It’s a warmed toned highlighter that can be worn alone or mixed with your  foundation.

Speaking of foundation, I packed the Pür Air Cushion Foundation because it can be worn sheer or be built up to a more medium coverage. Plus, it feels light on the skin which is exactly what you want in the summer heat.

My pool side beauty survival necessities.

I also packed a body oil so I could lay out by the pool to tan. What I love most about the Clarins Sun Care Oil Spray is that it has SPF 30 in it so you can bronze and still be protected from harmful UV rays. Since I will be tanning a bit I also brought an after sun care spray. I love Clarins Sun Care Milk Lotion Spray because it comes in a spray bottle so it’s super convenient to apply. A great drugstore sunscreen for the body is the Neutrogena CoolDry Sport Lotion with SPF 50. This also has UVA and UVB so you’ll be well protected.

For my lips, I packed a few lip oils. Lancome’s Juicy Shaker is one of my favorites! It’s very hydrating with a subtle sheen that’s perfect for lounging near the pool. If you’re more of a gloss girl, NARS Turkish Delight is another favorite!

To get that fresh beach-wave hair look without getting your hair wet, I spray Ouai Wave Spray in my hair. The spray has a light fragrance which I love.

In the summer you will need a water proof mascara to beat the heat and to avoid “raccoon eyes” if you decide to cool off in a pool. For this reason I packed Loreal’s Miss Manga Rock Mascara. This water proof mascara rules because it holds a curl and gives your lashes a  nice volume.

My Pool Side Beauty Survival Kit includes headphones, a cute hat, and sunglasses.

Of course no pool side bag is complete without a good book, sunnies, and a cute hat. I also like to bring a phone charger and a pair of headphones so I can  listen to music or watch youtube videos while I relax outside.

What are some of your summer must haves? I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!

I’m always struggling packing for short trips! This totally helps. How much clothes do you pack?

    • ReplySonaJune 29, 2016 at 3:30 pm

I try not to pack too much stuff. I usually plan my outfits before and pack each outfit in a zip bag. I actually have a post on how I pack here http://simplysona.com/2015/08/traveling-tips-and-essentials/

Hi there … great blog! Will you or have you done a winter beauty essentials? My skin is Frey and I can feel the change in weather by how my face and lips feel :-(

ah so glad i found this! We’re just heading into summer here in Cape Town, so some of these are definitely going onto my ‘to-buy’ list. Neutrogena really does not react well with my skin, but for sure loving the sound of the Clarins Sun Care Oil Spray ?
