Travel Tips to Survive Your Next Flight

Lifestyle, Travel
In-flight Travel Routine.

I’m in Hawaii!! As you guys know, I travel quite a bit, so I thought I’d reveal some of my survival travel tips with you all! Though vacations and travel can be glamorous, we all know that flights and airports are anything but chic. From going through airport security to being crammed in too-small seats, I usually just try to relax, catch up on reading my favorite magazines, and think of all the fun things to do and explore at our destination! Here I’ll share some of my best travel tips and tricks from how to stay hydrated on your flight to making sure you don’t get sick before your vacation.

1. Stay clean and healthy.

My in-flight routine is pretty simple, since I just want to make sure that I’m comfortable and ready to go once we land. As you know, I get sick easily so I first make sure to clean off my seat and tray table with Disinfecting Wipes. These wipes are so handy and I use them all the time for any quick cleanup while on the go. I also use hand sanitizers and pack a mini saline rinse for my nose to make sure that I don’t catch anyone’s cold while in the air. All the recycled air in the plane makes it easy to get sick so I do my best to stay healthy leading up to our vacation by taking lots of vitamins and drinking Emergen-C before I leave.

2. Drink lots of water and moisturize.

From my travel experience, I know that it’s important to stay hydrated while flying. I drink lots of water and bring hand cream and lubricating eye drops to prevent my skin and eyes from drying out. If I know that my flight is going to be long, I’ll sometimes bring a clear hydrating mask so that my skin is glowing and refreshed as soon as I land!

3. Stay comfy.

While traveling, I wear cute, comfy clothes and bring fluffy socks and a big scarf to use as a wrap. Even though we’re going to sunny Maui, I’m usually freezing while in the air! I make sure to bring lots of layers that I can wear on the plane and take off as soon as I arrive.

4. Bring entertainment and snacks.

Entertainment and snacks are absolute essentials for travel. I usually bring my favorite magazines and my laptop so that I can watch movies or do some work. (make sure to bring a portable charger for your phone too!) Since the plane can be noisy, my Bose noise cancelling headphones are a must—they completely eliminate any outside noise! My favorite snacks to bring are bars and trail mix, since they’re healthy and easy to pick up at the airport or to bring from home.

I hope you got some good travel tips and tricks to add to your in-flight routine! What are your favorite ways to prepare for a long flight?

I’ve learned to not put any mu on during long flights. The dry air that circulates in the cabin is very dehydrating for your skin-so lots of water is a must! I usually change into in flight pj’s and socks, sooo comfy! And put a mask on mid flight, like I cared if anyone is watching, lol. Taking aspirin before hand prevents unwanted zits. I did all these during a 13-17 hour flight to Asia and it worked!

An eye mask (to cover your eyes) is a must have. If you’ve ever been trapped in an airport with a cancelled or severely delayed flight, you’ll be thankful for a larger scarf that can act as a blanket along with noise cancelling headphones and eye mask to block out the light.
