What’s that one piece in your closet that you wear everyday, no matter the season? If you’re like me, it’s a pair of jeans! Though finding an amazing pair can be difficult (see how to shop for jeans here!), once you have jeans you love, it’s easy to dress them up or down. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I can get in an outfit rut and pair my favorite skinnies with endless tees and sweaters, but occasionally, I’ll find that perfect dressed up outfit! I love wearing a nicer top and heels with jeans, since you look chic, but have a bit of downtown edge. I recently got an amazing new pair of black distressed skinnies , here’s how I dress them up!
1. Wear a statement-making top
One of the easiest ways to dress up jeans is by wearing a nice top to add a bit of polish! I recently found this gorgeous one shouldered top and I love how it adds a bit of drama. The huge ruffles look so cool against a one-shouldered silhouette. In crisp cotton, this shirt is a great new take on the basic white shirt, especially when paired with denim! Mine is currently sold out but here is a similar option.
2. Slip on some heels
I often wear heels to dress up jeans! Whether you choose sexy strappy sandals, polished pumps, or heeled ankle booties, like mine, heels can instantly make you look more sophisticated. These ones are perfect for fall in warm brown suede with fringe. I actually bought these booties the night before my wedding! I went to Bloomingdales to find a hairpiece and I think I was totally stress shopping, because I came out with these shoes instead! I’ve only worn them a few times but they always remind me of that day. Unfortunately they’re not available anymore, but here’s a similar pair!
3. Add accessories
For this look, I wore my new Gucci belt. I always seem to wear it in Instagram pictures, so if you follow me there, I hope you’re not sick of it yet! I added my classic Chanel purse, but I also love how this outfit looks with a large pink leather clutch. One of my friends, Marianna, designed it!. Adding clutches and small, detailed bags are a great way to dress up your jeans! I always wear unique accessories to add a special touch to my outfit!
4. Give a little bit of drama
To finish my look, I decided to wear a minimal fall makeup look that would let my lipstick stand out! I wore a gorgeous wine colored matte lip color from Tarte called Manbun. It’s such an amazing shade for the season! I kept my eye makeup pretty and natural, but I made sure to add a few extra coats of Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara for little extra drama. For my face, I went with a fresh look with just a touch of bronzer and highlighter for a bit of dimension.
Do you ever dress up your jeans?
