Finally the blogpost you’ve been waiting for, my nighttime skincare routine! This past weekend I posted my Morning Skincare Routine, where I shared all of the products that have transformed my dry skin. However, my nighttime routine is really what has cleared my acne and made the biggest difference, because I have more time to spend on my skincare before bed.
1. Makeup Remover
The very first step in my nighttime routine is to remove my makeup. This is very important, especially if you have acne prone skin like I do. Lately, I’ve been using micellar water to remove my face makeup and it’s become my newest obsession! The Philosophy Purity Made Simply Micellar Cleansing Water gently removes makeup and doesn’t leave an oily residue on the skin. I’ve barely been using makeup wipes! Another great drugstore alternative is the Garnier All-in-One Micellar Cleansing Water. It’s so affordable and definitely a stand out product for the price. Both are amazing at removing face makeup, I can’t believe it took me this long to try micellar water! Next, I use a separate remover for my eye makeup, and the Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover is my absolute favorite! It really gets every last bit of mascara off of my lashes, even waterproof formulas! I couldn’t live without it.
2. Cleanser
Like I mentioned in my morning skincare routine, cleansing your skin is a very important step. One product I really like is the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser. I use it on days that I’m feeling a bit lazy, because it will remove any light makeup I may have on my face. However, most of the time I alternate between the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and the iS Clinical Cleansing Complex. They’re both extremely gentle and do a great job of removing any dirt or oil. I can’t say enough good things about these two cleansers! When I was younger and had more frequent breakouts, I used the PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash. It really helped control my acne, because it contains Benzoyl Peroxide, which is the same medicine that’s typically prescribed for acne by dermatologists. About two times a week I also use an exfoliating cleanser. Recently, I tried my hubby’s Clarins Men Exfoliating Cleanser while I was in the shower, and it’s honestly so great! (Thanks KB;)) Another exfoliating cleanser I enjoy using is the Ole Henriksen Pore-Balance Sauna Scrub. I love that it has a warm tingly feeling and leaves my skin so smooth!
3. Serum
The next step in my skincare routine is to apply a serum, it’s the first thing I apply to my bare face after cleansing. Serums are one of the most beneficial products for your skin, and I can’t stop raving about the iS Clinical Active Serum. I mentioned it in my serums post and my last Sona Select’s, which goes to show how much I’ve been loving this product! This serum is amazing for acne prone skin because it gets rid of any active breakouts so quickly. I use it every night (only at night) and it’s transformed my skin like no other product has! After applying the Active Serum, I also put on the iS Clinical Pro Heal Advance+ serum. It has great anti-aging benefits and contains Vitamin C which is so brightening! These serums are a bit more expensive than most, but for how great my skin looks, it’s well worth the investment.
4. Eye Cream
I may not have time every morning for eye cream, but I always try to apply one at night! The Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream is the one I’ve been gravitating towards lately, but I have so many favorites! (Linked below!) I prefer more lightweight, gel-like eye creams because using heavy products had actually caused buildup under my eyes. A while back, I was noticing a bunch of little white dots in my under eye area, and my dermatologist said it was from heavier creams clogging my pores. Since then, I’ve switched to using lighter products and haven’t had any problems!
5. Moisturizer
If I feel like I need the extra hydration after applying my serums, I will apply a moisturizer. The iS Clinical Reparative Moisture Emulsion has been my go-to when I need the extra moisture. I love this product because it’s hydrating and makes my skin feel so smooth! However, it is very rich, so I only use it a few times a week. This moisturizer is also quite expensive, so I’ve linked a few more affordable options below.
6. Masks
Masks are another thing I like to do about twice a week to revive my skin. Whether I’m breaking out, my skin is dry, or I need to brighten my complexion, there is a mask for everything! My all time favorite treatment is the Ole Henriksen Power Bright 3-Step Professional Brightening System. It is very intense, so I only use it about twice a month. It’s also very brightening, and makes my skin look so radiant! More frequently I use the Origins Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask. It smooths the texture of my skin and helps clear any problem areas. I could go on forever about all my favorite masks!
I hope you guys enjoyed my nighttime skincare routine! If you haven’t seen my morning skincare routine, you can read about it here. I would love to know what your favorite acne fighting product is, leave a comment below!

This is a great post! I remember struggling with acne in college, and I wish there was a post like this back then. I used to just wear soo much caked makeup, and use makeup wipes, that’s it! no wonder my skin was so horrible! (that plus all the horrible greasy food!) now I’m lucky that I have relatively clear skin except for the occasional pimple here and there! I think I recommended it before, I really think you should try out the ordinary for some of their skincare items! I use a lactic acid as well as their retinoid (great for breakouts) and they are both extremely reasonably priced!!! <3 xoxo snapchatfam
I will have to check out their line. Thanks babe! xo

Hola! Love, love, love this post! I have one question, do you wait in between applying serums or do you mix them both and apply at same time?
I apply both separately. First the Active Serum then the Vitamin C.
