The Skincare Routine That Transformed My Dry Skin

Beauty, Skincare
Sona Gasparian's Morning Skincare Routine

Lately, there have been tons of comments on my skin and what products I use to keep it healthy and acne free! In today’s blogpost, I’m showing you my simple four to five step morning skincare routine. Simplifying my routine has made my dry acne prone skin less sensitive, and I feel like I’ve finally found products that really work. I’m posting a video all about my morning skincare routine on my channel tomorrow, but I wanted to give you guys an exclusive first look! So if you want to see a more in depth review I would definitely give it a watch!

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel1. Cleanse

One of my absolute favorite cleansers that I love using in the morning is the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. It’s infused with mint and lavender which is so soothing on the skin! Depending on the day, I like to switch between this cleanser and the iS Clinical Cleansing Complex. It’s very gentle and leaves my skin so clean, without drying it out! Along with these two products, every other night I use an exfoliating cleanser while I’m in the shower. I’ll be sharing all about the exact products in my nighttime routine coming soon to my channel!

iS Clinical ProHeal Serum Advance+ anti aging serum2. Serum

Serums are a staple in my routine, they’ve seriously transformed my skin! If you didn’t know, I did an entire post all about serums a few weeks ago. I can’t stop raving about all the good things they do for your skin! In the morning, after I’ve cleansed my face I will apply the iS Clinical Pro Heal Serum Advance+ straight to my skin from the dropper. I like applying it this way, versus dropping it straight into my hands, because I feel like it wastes less product! This serum is great for anti-aging and contains Vitamin C which gives the skin such a gorgeous glow. I know this product is very expensive, but I definitely think it’s worth the money. However, if you’d like a more affordable option, the Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum is a great alternative.

3. Moisturize

Since I have dry skin, I always make sure to follow up with a moisturizing product after cleansing my face and applying serum. Since I’m out of my holy grail Skin Ceuticals moisturizer, I’ve been using the ZO Skin Health Ossential Daily Power Defense serum. It’s very hydrating and provides protection against pollution and other free-radicals. Sometimes, if I don’t have enough time in the mornings I’ll even use this in place of an eye cream! But, to be honest, my all time favorite moisturizer is still definitely the SkinCeuticals Daily Moisturizer. If you have sensitive, acne prone, or oily skin I think this moisturizer is a must have! If it’s out of your budget, the Aveeno Clear Complexion moisturizer is a great drugstore alternative. When I layer my serum with one of these moisturizers, it definitely gives me enough hydration, even with my dry skin!

Clarins UV Plus SPF 504. Sunscreen

Using an SPF daily is so important to have healthy, radiant skin. It’s one step in my morning skincare routine I will never skip! It also provides more hydration, which is great for my dry skin! I even did an entire blogpost on the importance of SPF awhile back. My all time favorite is the Clarins UV Plus sunscreen, it has SPF 50 and protects against pollution as well as UVA and UVB rays. This sunscreen is very lightweight and so hydrating, it’s a great choice for dry skin! A more recent favorite of mine, is the PCA Skin Weightless Protection sunscreen with SPF 45. I’ve also noticed it gives a matte finish to the skin once it’s dried, which is perfect if you have oily skin. Both are amazing products, and if you don’t use an SPF daily you definitely should!

5. Eye Cream

The last and final step in my skincare routine is eye cream. Lately, I’ve been using the Ole Henrickson Uplifting Transformation Eye Créme. It’s a lightweight gel that is so hydrating and perfect for the daytime! Like I mentioned earlier, sometimes I don’t have time in the morning for this step, but when I do, these are some of the products I reach for.

I hope you enjoyed my morning skincare routine. These are the products that have been working for me, and have made me so happy with my skin! Stay tuned for my nighttime skincare routine coming soon to my channel. Comment below one step you never skip in your morning routine!

I love that moment when you finally find a product that works perfectly with your skin ? your skin is looking flawless and I love how simple your routine is! My skin is so sensitive so I’ve always been so scared to try new products but I finally found that products from Simple kept my skin good ?? Olive oil is also my holy grail because it essentially got rid of my acne and reduced most of my scars ?❤️ I’m also going on the search for a serum which works for me and going to start using eye creams too! I hope your skin continues to look on fleek x

I so want to try these products. My skin is so dry and I am 27 and I always wonder that should I start using anti-aging products or not. But, I think the sooner you begin the better it’ll be for later years. Thanks for this post Sona!

  • ReplyValeriaSeptember 23, 2017 at 5:41 pm

It is great to know that it is not required to use so many products to comply with our skincare routine, only with few but effective products we can greatly improve our skin. You convinced me with the Serum! #24hrclub

  • ReplyJanny PetersenSeptember 24, 2017 at 3:11 am

I’ve used the Origins checks and balances cleanser for the past 5 years because I have combination skin, and I feel it so gentle on my skin. I just love it!! However, I am definitely interested in the dermalogica cleanser ☺️

  • Replysaralrb2602September 24, 2017 at 6:04 pm

hi Sona, thanks for sharing your daily routine, I already have my own routine but its interesting to discover new product and maybe incorporate in my own routine :)

Hi Sona, which eyeshadow are you wearing? Also can you do a tutorial on your eye makeup look? It looks gorgeous ?

  • ReplyRobyn LayneOctober 9, 2017 at 8:22 pm

Hi Sona. Like the others, I want to thank you for this post. I love/hate to see stellar reviews about IS Clinical Pro Heal Serum; it’s the one product I honestly cannot go without, but at about $150 for 1 ounce is a KILLER. I will pay that every 3 months because I think I’ve tried every single alternative and this is the only product that completely clears my 40 year-old awful hormonal acne. THE ONLY THING.
I will have to try your other recommended products because I consider you 100% credible after your rave review of my HG product! Thanks again!!
