6 Tips to Instantly Look Less Tired

makeup

We’ve all been there, whether it’s watching one too many Netflix episodes, battling jetlag or losing track of time at happy hour the night before– sometimes you need help faking a full 8 hours of sleep. I mean theres only so much a venti coffee can do, am I right? So to help you look more rested after a night of losing out on sleep, I’ve got you covered with these 6 easy tips!

WHAT YOU NEED:

1. FOUNDATION

It may seem almost too obvious, but starting with a base is absolutely necessary. To cover imperfections and even out skin tone, you need a really good foundation. I used the Esteée Lauder double wear foundation in the shade Tawny. I applied it with a brush and made sure to blend it really well to give me flawless looking coverage.

2. CONCEALER

After applying foundation all over my face, I picked a concealer that was two to three shades lighter than my foundation. Picking a lighter shade is an important step for brightening the under eye area and hiding those bags!

3. BLUSH

When you’re trying to look less tired, you should always go for a bright blush instead of a peachy/brown one. Brighter blushes make you look youthful and well-rested. I like to go heavy on the blush on those extra sleepy days!

4. HIGHLIGHTER

You know I love my highlighter, but I really love highlighter (CaliGlow, of course) because it instantly gives me a luminous and healthy glow. For a natural glow, I use a fan brush to apply highlighter to the high points of my cheeks, the cupid’s bow and the tip of my nose. Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush, I also add a little to the inner corners of my eyes to really open them up. Then I use whatever is left on the brush, all over the lid. Lastly, I take a little bit more highlighter to accentuate the brow bone and complete the glow.

5. MASCARA

One of the most important steps for waking up your eyes is applying a lengthening mascara (read all about my favorite $7 one here). Adding mascara makes your eyes look bigger, brighter and more awake!

6. LIPS

When it comes to lips, opt for brighter, rosier shades. Brighter shades make you look happier, which in turn makes you look way more rested. My go-to is a tinted lip balm to hydrate your lips while still giving them a pop of color. Pro tip: stay away from browns, washed out nudes or any dull shades that make you look like you just rolled out of bed!

There’s nothing worse than people repeatedly telling you, “you look tired,” right? Well the good news is, with these few makeup tips you can walk out the door looking way more awake than you feel– no coffee needed (even though of course, coffee will help too)!

I love the concealer tip. I have used the Covergirl vitalist Go Glow or any luminiser lotion (just a small amount) with a cc cream. Only because in Az , the heat is killer a little lighter than foundation. Love your tips tho. This will be my go to for sure. Just enjoy your tips ☺️?

Oops luminizer I don’t know how to correct my post. I’m so sorry

What I like the most is how easy this is to do, for all of us tired moms… thank you Sona. I bought the mascara following your review :)

Aww I’m so glad this helps babe, it definitely saves a lot of time. Let me know how you like your mascara too! I’m excited to hear. Xx

Watched the video yesterday and immediately put the tips to the test. Concealer makes all the difference in the world for me because of my dark circles BUT the sheer, brighter lip was something I don’t usually do and I loved it!

Oh good! I bet this whole look turned out stunning on you, the lip definitely makes a difference! So happy you liked it, love ya babe. ?

Love these tips! I also use Origins Refreshing Eye Cream it does brighten and smooth my under eyes! That brightening cream looks like a highlighter. Then on top of that will use concealer. Still can’t wait to get my Cali Glow, Zuma!!

I watched the video , lots of great tips. I usually show my tiredness under my eyes with bags and dark circles. I like to use a yellow color correcting there first before my concealer. Thank you Sona for your channel and great beauty advice.

I’m usually not big on blush, but I should use it more because it might give me that extra boost to my look that makes my face more radiant! Also, cannot wait to be able to get Zuma! Love the post ❤️

Even with such a simple look you look so stunning!!?

Hi Sona, I love the Fit Me poreless Foundation. I wear that frequently. I also love the Revlon Age Eraser. It does the job of a concealer. I wear it under the eye which brightens beautifully. I have to have that make up product. I also love the Telescopic mascara. It lengthens the lashes perfectly & the thin wand allows me to get to the root of the lashes & go up. My must have mascara. Thanks for the simple wake me up look tutorial. I love it being basic & quick but at the same time makes you look good for those days you need a pick me up.

Omg I LOVE the FitMe Foundation, it’s amazing! And I also swear by the Telescopic mascara, great minds think alike. ? So glad you liked this post babe.

I love all of your recommendations! I also really appreciate that you include drug store dupes for a more affordable approach. I’ve finally gotten that L’Oréal mascara and it is life changing! Looking forward to trying applying some blush since I’m not much of a blush girl. xoxo

These are all fantastic and pretty realistic tips to look less tired. With all the stress and buzzing activities we need to do, these are all a must. However, sleeping on time and eating healthy is still the best.
