The one thing we all need, but don’t get enough of? Self-care. It’s more than just an Instagram trend and requires more than just putting on a face mask. It’s about giving yourself the time you need to relax, reflect and unwind. One of the best ways to do this is to treat yourself to a spa treatment every once in a while. LA is basically the Mecca for spa treatments, so keep on reading for my favorite spas in LA for facials and massages!
KATE SOMERVILLE CLINIC
When a trusted skincare guru with an A-list client roster has her own skincare clinic, you know it’s a good one. Not to mention the Kate Somerville Clinic has amazing reviews on Yelp and almost 5 stars, which is a great sign. The most popular facial is the DermalQuench Oxygen Treatment which cleanses the skin and gives you a next-level glow. It’s perfect for a pre-event or special occasion. The clinic is located on Melrose Place, which also happens to be one of my favorite places to hang out. Kate Somerville also has an amazing line of products which you can buy at Nordstrom, Sephora or Ulta. I like the ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment.
RAYA SPA
Raya is one of my go-tos for an affordable facial. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve probably seen me film some BTS of my microdermabrasion treatments at Raya. They do very deep extractions, which is what I go for when my skin is acting up. I love giving my skin that extra clean whenever my pores feel really clogged. Raya is definitely not the most glamorous spa in LA, but if you’re looking for a more affordable deep clean facial, it’s a good option.
SKIN LAUNDRY
Got only 15 minutes for a facial? Meet Skin Laundry. People call this the “Dry Bar” of the skincare world because you can drop by at lunchtime for their signature 15-minute Laser & Light facial for an effective, medical-grade and affordable treatment. These facials are great for your maintenance skincare routine and you’ll see best results if you go consistently (they have discounts for treatment packages)! I also recently tried the Skin Laundry Gentle Foaming Face Wash as a double cleanser. You can get all their products at Sephora!
ALCHEMIE SPA
Alchemie Spa is an organic spa in Santa Monica that has super relaxing massages with all organic products. They have everything from deep tissue to hot stone massages, or they can customize a massage to your needs. They also have body wraps, an infrared sauna, superfood facials and nail services so you can indulge in some much needed me-time! I think next I want to try their body scrub!
THE NOW
I’ve mentioned the Now a few times on the blog, so of course it’s going to be on this list too. Once you step into the spa you feel like you’ve been transported to Tulum because of all the beautiful plants and relaxing vibes. I love the Now for a quick massage. Massages start at $40 and you can also add on extras like crystal healing and CBD therapy balm for $10. They have locations all over LA including West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Silver Lake and Studio City.
BEVERLY WILSHIRE
The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel is one of my all time favorites for a traditional, treat-yourself spa day. I’ve taken my mom here as a treat for her birthday and Mother’s Day, so I’d definitely recommend it if you want to treat someone special. They have a whole menu of massages, facials, body treatments and more. With your treatment you get access to the whole spa including the aromatherapy crystal steam room which has heated benches and eucalyptus steam. It’s sooo relaxing!
