How to Throw the Ultimate Halloween Night In

Lifestyle

BOO! I can’t believe Halloween is in two days. I used to love dressing up and doing crazy makeup for Halloween, but now I’m all about keeping these kinds of holidays more low key. My ideal Halloween? A  movie marathon at home with KB and all my favorite candy and snacks. If you’re like me and you’re staying in, don’t worry because I’ve got the easiest plan for the ultimate Halloween movie night in!

SET THE MOOD

First and foremost, you have to get in the Halloween spirit! This can be as simple as lighting all your favorite fall candles or you can go the extra mile and decorate your living room in full on Halloween theme. I’m not a huge decorator for holidays other than Christmas, so I’m keeping things chic with some fresh pumpkins and sunflowers. I also love to light a yummy pumpkin candle and put on a pumpkin face mask.

PICK YOUR MOVIES

No Halloween night in is complete without a Halloween movie marathon. I hate scary movies, so no surprise that I’m picking not-so-scary movies. On my list is Hocus Pocus (I love Sarah Jessica Parker), E.T and the new Ghostbusters movie! You can obviously go the scary route here, but I don’t think I could give you any recommendations in that area lol!hocus pocus

INDULGE IN YOUR FAVORITE TREATS

Now to the fun stuff–the snacks! Popcorn of course. I like buying air popped pop corn like SkinnyPop. For sweets, I love pumpkin treats, especially pumpkin donuts and pumpkin bread. But since it’s Halloween, I’ll be digging in to my favorite sweet, sour and chocolate-y candies. Did you know most people purposefully buy more Halloween candy than they need for trick-or-treaters so they can eat the extra?? KB and I are totally guilty. We both love Kit-Kats for chocolate cravings so you already know we bought more than we actually need from CVS. We also love Gummy Worms and Watermelon Sour Patch Kids!

TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH

At the end of every movie night, I always make sure to floss and brush my teeth. It’s so important to take extra care of your teeth during these candy-filled holidays! And after indulging in all that popcorn and candy, I usually can’t wait to brush my teeth. To make sure my teeth stay clean and cavity free, I use the Crest Pro-Health Clean Mint Tooth Paste. It helps protect my teeth from all the fall indulgences and is also great for my sensitive teeth. So when you pick up all your extra candy this halloween, make sure you stock up on your favorite Crest toothpaste at CVS because they’re buy one, get one 50% off! Yup, that means you can skip all that fake healthy sugar-free Halloween candy and stick to the regular stuff because you’ll be covered with Crest! (PS. you have to watch this adorable kids candy prank video!!)

I love the chocolate Hersheys minatures. I like passing out candy and seeing all the kiddos! Mine are older now but sometimes my daughter in college would come over and we would have pizza and pass out candy. I like the 1st Halloween movie with Jamie lee Curtis that’s my favorite.

    • ReplySimplySonaOctober 30, 2018 at 5:47 pm

Aw that sounds fun! I can’t wait to pass out candy when I move to a house!

I’m guilty, anything chocolate! Although I do find it easy to just buy those cute little pre-packaged Halloween lollies from Supermarkets for all the little kiddies that come door knocking, that way they all get the same, and they all have wrappers on them and cute little pictures on them, and besides and leftovers my boyfriend and I get to have X

    • ReplySimplySonaOctober 30, 2018 at 5:48 pm

      Chocolate is my go-to!!

  • ReplyErika HernandezOctober 30, 2018 at 4:16 pm

Anything is my favorite! I love sweets but just yesterday I decided to give up sugar as a diet for 30 days haha not so good timing :( I was planning on going with a friend and kids to help asking for candy but staying in and relaxing sounds better!

    • ReplySimplySonaOctober 30, 2018 at 5:49 pm

Oh my gosh! Good luck on the sugar detox! xo

  • ReplyJoOctober 30, 2018 at 5:14 pm

I have to repurchase the Summer Friday, I bought it a few months ago when you recommended the blue version packaging. It has been gone so this is a great reminder to go back and get another one!! I should get some chocolates too? :)
