Easy Anti-Aging Tips You Need to Know

Beauty

Every day we are flooded with so many different kinds of anti-aging tips and products, that it’s hard to know what’s actually worth investing in. When it comes to maintaining youthful looking skin, the truth is, there isn’t just one miracle product that will turn back the clocks. It takes a combination of healthy habits and a good skincare routine. If you’re looking to jumpstart your anti-aging routine, here are five easy tips you need to know.

1. UP YOUR WATER INTAKE

Keeping your skin hydrated is essential for youthful looking skin. And though we are quick to layer on the moisturizing skincare products, it’s easy to forget just how important drinking water is for keeping our skin healthy. Getting enough water everyday helps our skin maintain adequate moisture levels and helps increase elasticity. Easy ways to up your water intake include getting a smart water bottle that monitors how much water you’re drinking, infusing your water so it’s easier to drink and eating raw fruits and veggies that have a high water content (ie. melons, cucumbers, celery and citrus).

2. SUPPLEMENT WITH COLLAGEN

We’ve all heard about the collagen craze aka your new anti-aging best friend. I’ve always been curious about supplementing my diet with collagen because of all the anti-aging skin benefits.  Before adding collagen into my diet, I made sure to do my research. I found out our skin is made of 70-80% collagen and is super important for keeping our skin firm and youthful. As we age our collagen starts to break down, resulting in wrinkles, dryness and sagging. Sun exposure, smoking and pollution also don’t help!

I decided to try Nordic Naturals Marine Collagen, which is made from sustainable, wild-caught fish. I love that it has no GMOs, artificial flavors or preservatives and that it’s blended with vitamin C to help with antioxidant support. If you’re interested in trying collagen, always check the ingredients and make sure it’s from a reputable brand (Nordic Naturals passed my test!).

I’ve been adding Nordic Natural Marine Collagen (2 tsps) to my morning smoothies, but you can also mix it into any warm or cold liquid. I’m loving the way my skin is looking and feeling since taking it regularly. My nails are growing super fast too, so I definitely know it’s working!

3. GET SERIOUS ABOUT SUN DAMAGE

I  can never stress how important SPF is for anti-aging. Sun exposure is responsible for most signs of visible aging so protecting your skin at an early age is a must. Using an SPF of 30+ everyday will help prevent wrinkles, dark spots and sagging. Rain or shine, never skip the SPF!

4. TRY LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

I’ve been obsessed with lymphatic drainage for almost two years now. I swear by jade rolling for reducing fine lines, restoring elasticity, decreasing puffiness and promoting a brighter complexion. When I jade roll or use a Gua Sha on a regular basis, I definitely notice an overall “lift” in my face!

5. GET ACTIVE

The last tip I have is to get out there and sweat! That post workout flush is actually good for your skin. When the blood vessels open up in your face, you are promoting cell repair and giving your skin a boost of oxygen. Make sure to skip the makeup and to wash your face post workout!

Does the Collagen have any taste of fish at all or does the vitamin C & the flavor, like strawberry, mask it?

    Thanks doll!

You know collagen is a protein and once broken down by the GI system, it doesn’t know that it needs to “go to the hair and skin”. Its more beneficial to get protein from your diet :)
