Summer is finally here, which means it’s finally time to ditch the winter layers. If you’re like me, a little bit of a sun kissed glow makes you feel way more confident when it’s time to show some skin. The struggle is always real when it comes to getting the perfect tan. On one hand you want an all over, natural-looking bronze, but on the other hand, you don’t want to bake in the sun and later have to worry about sun damage and wrinkles. So what’s the compromise? Invest in a great sunless tanner! After testing tons of sunless tanning lotions, oils, mousses and even wipes, I’ve finally found one that works perfectly for me. Keep on reading to see which sunless tanning product I swear by!
THE TANNING LOTION
Let’s get right to it. I know how hard it is to find a sunless tanner than gives you a non-orangey tan, has little to no odor, is easy to apply and works for sensitive skin! And finally I found one that checks all of these boxes. It’s the Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Tinted Lotion. This one is amazing because it gives you an instant airbrushed color which gradually turns into a tan after a couple of hours. Your tan will last about 4-7 days, but if you’re in the pool or ocean a lot, your tan will fade more quickly. Another reason I love this one is because it’s super hydrating and soothing thanks to beneficial ingredients like marula oil, aloe vera and licorice. It’s also super easy to use, but if you’re new to using self- tanners, I’ve included some tips below for a longer lasting tan!
SELF-TANNER TIPS
Tip 1: Exfoliate and shave the day before you plan to self-tan to remove any dead skin and to prevent a patchy-looking tan (I love this body scrub).
Tip 2: Choose a gradual self-tanner for the most natural-looking tan.
Tip 3: Do not shower right before applying the tanning lotion and make sure your skin is free of makeup, deodorant and perfumes.
Tip 4: Always use a mitt to avoid getting your palms awkwardly tan.
Tip 5: Start from the feet and work your way up to avoid any lines from bending down.
Tip 6: Apply a thin, even layer of self-tanner and blend it in circular motions.
Tip 7: When you’re finished, stand naked for longer than necessary to air dry. If you don’t let it dry long enough, you’re bound to mess it up!
Tip 8: Wait 4-8 hours (longer the better) before showering.

I’ve only ever tried Loving Tan! I need to explore more
Sona, I am of fair skin complexion & when the summer comes I want that been to the beach tan. I have tried so many self tanners & like you mentioned they are either too orange or not too pleasant in the odor department. I am looking for that perfect self tanner that will give me a natural looking tan & a nice odor. I have heard of this brand before so I will go to ULTA & purchase it to give it a try. It looks beautiful on you. Thanks for the tips as well. I just wish it didn’t take so long in putting it on. I will have to get the exfoliator as well. Thanks, Sona.
I love this self tanner too! It’s super hydrating compared to others and it lasts a good amount of time! My other favorite is Loving Tan in 2 hour express when I need to be dark for an event or something special. I am interested to try their new gradual self tanner too that just came out!
Please update more often because I love your articles. Thanks!
