This year has been all about staying healthy and being more active. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic and the California Stay at Home order currently in place, I am still sticking to my goal of moving my body everyday. Before the times of self-isolation, I loved group workout classes like cycling and Pilates, but for now, home workouts and quick walks around my neighborhood are becoming the new norm. It takes a whole lot more to motivate me these days to workout, but getting up early and getting it out of the way definitely makes me feel better about my day.
No matter what kind of workout I’m doing, one of my biggest struggles with working out has always been my hair! I always like to have pretty hair but can’t justify giving myself a blow out every day. Between washing, blow drying, styling and applying product, my hair routine could take close to 2 hours (thick hair problems!) To keep my post workout hair looking as fresh as it did on day one, I’ve finally found the perfect duo!
MEET WATERL<SS
Waterl<ss is a haircare brand with an amazing story. Their lineup of non-wash day products launched in Cape Town, South Africa during the Day Zero crisis in 2018. During this crisis, the city announced it was 3 months away from running out of water! Waterl<ss gave the women in the city a new way to have clean and conditioned hair without using a single drop of water. Isn’t that amazing? And best of all, Waterl<ss was designed for diverse hair types!
THE DUO
When it comes to keeping my hair looking it’s best between washes, shampoos for menopausal hair are a lifesaver! My new favorite is the Waterl<ss No Residue Dry Shampoo. I swear by it for giving my hair a refresh after a tough workout and keeping my oily roots in check throughout the day. I always feel good when I save a few hair washes throughout the week because not only does it conserve water, but it saves my hair from extra wear and tear from drying and styling. I love that Waterl<ss uses safe ingredients and is paraben and sulfate-free!
Another one of my “struggles” when it comes to my thick, coarse hair is frizz and dry ends. A new product I’ve been testing is the Waterl<ss Dry Conditioner Instant Moisture. I love it for my thick hair and it’s a game changer when it comes to taming frizz and flyaways. I like to use this one after cardio workouts (and after the No Residue Dry Shampoo) when my hair ends up in a tangled mess. A few sprays of the Dry Conditioner makes it easier to brush through and gives my dry ends some much needed moisture. Together these two products have saved me SO much time getting ready after my early morning workouts. Instead of spending over an hour styling my hair, I can finish my hair routine in just a few minutes and get on with my day knowing my hair is clean and smelling great! All of these products are available online at Target!

Hello! Thank you for pointing out that play and discovery are natural ways to learn. No matter what type of exercise I do, my hair has always been a huge issue for me when it comes to working out! As much as I’d want to, I just cannot afford to have a blowout every day. My hair regimen may take up to 2 hours, including washing, blow drying, styling, and adding products. I’ve finally discovered the ideal combination for keeping my post-workout hair looking as fresh as it did on the first day!
